Shortly after the 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, some fans will have a chance to test the hockey rink built at Fenway Park for themselves.
In an upcoming raffle, 75 winning numbers will be chosen, with each winner -- and one guest -- eligible to attend a one-hour group skate at Fenway Park, tentatively scheduled from 9-10 a.m. ET on Jan. 9.
The drawing will be Monday, Jan. 4, but fans don't need to be present to win, as winning raffle-ticket numbers will be posted on redsox.com/skate later that day. Ticket sales began Dec. 1, with a maximum of 40,000 available at $10 each. The ticket-purchasing window will end at 11:59 a.m. on Jan. 3, unless the supply runs out before then.
Although younger fans may attend the skate as guests of winners, raffle-ticket purchases are limited to those 18 and older. Only Massachusetts residents can buy raffle tickets online, but in person -- at Fenway Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday -- state of residence does not come into play.
The raffle will benefit The Red Sox Foundation.
